Ahmet Nejat
Ahmet Nejat, born in 1956, began his art education in 1984 at the Graphic Design Department of Mimar Sinan University and completed his master’s degree in 1992 in the studio of Prof. Özdemir Altan. During this period, he continued working in his own studio, developing his distinctive artistic language.
The artist’s practice combines figurative and symbolic expression through a strong sense of composition rooted in graphic design. Maintaining both painter and sculptor identities, Nejat focuses particularly on the themes of “Love” and “Nothingness,” bringing together Eastern calligraphy with contemporary techniques.
A visual language shaped at the intersection of Eastern and Western aesthetics stands out in his works. Symbolic elements, typographic influences, and layered surface constructions invite the viewer into an experience that is both visual and intellectual.
Having participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, the artist’s works have been exhibited in Turkey, Iran, the USA, and the UAE, and are included in museum and private collections.
In the artist’s own words:
“For me, art is a space where line and thought intersect.”
Ahmet Nejat continues to establish a strong aesthetic dialogue between East and West by combining his graphic-based discipline with painting and sculpture.
