Ertuğrul Berberoğlu
Ertuğrul Berberoğlu, born in Bartın in 1989, graduated from Marmara University’s Painting Education Department after completing his studies at Bartın Anatolian Fine Arts High School. By combining his academic background with an experimental production practice, he has developed a distinctive visual language.
The artist’s practice is shaped around the concepts of individual experience, self, and perception. In his works, themes such as “gaze,” “flow,” and “identity” offer a multilayered narrative through the relationship between figure, space, and surface. The use of diverse materials and layered structures brings both physical and conceptual depth to his work.
In his practice, where an experimental approach is central, he invites the viewer into both a visual and conceptual inquiry.
Berberoğlu has held solo exhibitions titled “Tavaf,” “Çelişki,” and “Narkissos,” and draws attention with his works that reflect the individual narrative focus of contemporary art.
In the artist’s own words:
“For me, painting is both a form of expression and a mode of exploration.”
