Gülbuğ Mukaddes Kılınç
Gülbuğ Mukaddes Kılınç, born in Ankara in 1987, graduated from the Painting Department of Hacettepe University Faculty of Fine Arts. She completed her art education in the studio of Prof. Hasan Pekmezci, developing a strong technical and expressive language.
Kılınç’s work addresses both social and individual issues through a figurative approach. The analogies she establishes between human and animal figures reflect her ironic and critical perspective. Themes such as harassment, injustice, and social pressure are treated in a striking and direct manner in her work.
Using irony as a significant tool of expression, the artist transforms harsh subjects, inviting the viewer to think and question. This approach creates both emotional and political depth in her practice.
Having participated in both solo and group exhibitions, Kılınç’s works are included in private collections, and she continues her work in her studio in Ankara.
In the artist’s own words:
“I try to make the contradictions and injustices of life visible through the language of irony.”
