Hasan Nazım Balaban

Hasan Nazım Balaban, born in Bursa in 1955, is the son of the painter İbrahim Balaban. He was educated in Bursa and Istanbul and received a degree in electronic engineering.

After his engineering career, Balaban turned to painting in 1997; however, his artistic journey had begun earlier with a group exhibition he participated in in 1984. To date, he has produced over 80 paintings and more than 100 drawings, and his works are included in various collections.

Having taken part in both solo and group exhibitions, the artist approaches social life and human relationships through a figurative and expressive language, marked by a simple and sincere style.

Together with Zafer E. Bilgin, he prepared the work titled “Balaban – A Painter Yunus Emre.”

Balaban has established a distinctive place in contemporary Turkish painting through his figurative expression combined with social sensitivity.
