Hemad Javadzade
Hemad Javadzade, an Iranian-born artist born in 1984, currently lives and works in Istanbul. He began his art education in Iran, graduating from the Graphic Design Department of Bujnurd Fine Arts High School, and later completed his associate degree at Mashhad Samenolhojaj University and his undergraduate studies at Nabi Akram University.
The artist opened his first solo exhibition in 2001 and has since held five solo exhibitions, as well as participated in numerous group exhibitions, including the Mamut Art Project. He has received various awards in painting, sculpture, and graphic arts, standing out with his interdisciplinary practice.
Javadzade’s work is built upon a layered language that combines realistic observation with a surreal narrative. By transforming human and animal anatomy, he creates a perception of reality that multiplies and fragments as the viewer looks more closely.
Bringing together Eastern and Western aesthetics, the artist invites the viewer into a multilayered world through works produced with diverse techniques.
“Painting, for me, is a gateway to another world. I do not escape reality; I transform it to construct my own universe.”
