İmdat Avcı

İmdat Avcı, born in 1978, is a contemporary sculptor and a graduate of Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts. Focusing particularly on marble, he has developed a distinctive sculptural language through his knowledge of material and formal exploration.

His artistic practice centers on the relationship between nature and humanity. Avcı approaches nature not only as a theme but as a language of expression, reflecting its rhythm, transformation, and emotional layers in his sculptures. By combining the hardness of marble with organic and fluid forms, he creates both a physical and poetic impact.

Concepts such as “migration,” “nature,” and “emotion” stand out in his works. His pieces centered on the theme of migration make visible notions of movement, change, and belonging.

The artist has participated in various exhibitions and platforms, and his works are included in private collections. He continues his practice in his studio in Istanbul.

Also noted for his environmentally conscious approach, Avcı has reflected this sensitivity in his life practice through marine cleaning initiatives carried out in Marmaris.
