Mümin Candaş

Mümin Candaş, born in Trabzon in 1971, graduated from the Painting Education Department at Karadeniz Technical University and later completed his master’s degree in Environmental and Visual Arts at Istanbul Technical University.

Beginning his professional career as a painting teacher, the artist has been working at Akçaabat Fine Arts High School since 2002, continuing his artistic production alongside his role as an educator.

Candaş’s art is based on a figurative and expressive approach. His works focus on the inner world of the individual, emotional states, and life experiences. Layered surfaces, painterly (stain-based) expression, and strong color relationships are defining elements of his practice.

Having held one solo exhibition and participated in numerous group exhibitions, the artist also plays an active role within art communities. He continues his work in his studio in Trabzon.
