Neriman Oyman
Neriman Oyman, born in Istanbul in 1962, graduated from the Painting Department of Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts. She continued her education in the studios of Özdemir Altan and Adnan Çoker, combining her academic background with a distinctive artistic language to establish her place in contemporary Turkish painting.
Her practice is grounded in her interest in nature and a color-oriented approach. In her figurative and landscape works, she adopts a painterly, stain-based expressionism, reconstructing nature as a subjective field of experience rather than depicting it directly. A vibrant color palette, dynamic brushwork, and layered surfaces are defining elements of her work.
In her paintings, nature transforms into a living field of emotion through light, movement, and atmosphere. Seasonal changes and the rhythm of nature create both visual and emotional depth in her compositions.
Working with oil and acrylic techniques, the artist has participated in national and international exhibitions, and her works are included in various collections. She continues her practice in her studio in Istanbul.
In the artist’s own words:
“I translate the rhythm of nature and the power of color into an inner emotional field on the canvas.”
