Seydi Murat Koç
Artist

Seydi Murat Koç

Seydi Murat Koç, born in Akşehir in 1981, completed both his undergraduate and graduate studies in the Painting Department at Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts. He is among the prominent representatives of the new figurative approach in contemporary Turkish painting.

His paintings bring together architectural structures and panoramic perspectives with the human figure. The relationship he establishes between figure and architecture questions urban space and human existence, while his wide-angle compositions draw the viewer into the painting.

His works address themes such as urban transformation, the relationship between human and space, and the structure of the modern city; through his figures, he reflects the loneliness and fragility of the individual.

Having participated in more than 200 group exhibitions, the artist has received various awards, notably the Nuri İyem Award, and his works have been included in important collections.

“I approach the city not as a mass of concrete, but as a reflection of the human soul.”

Koç continues his work in Istanbul and stands out with a language that combines architectural and figurative expression.
